Congrats to the Pioneer Varsity Boys Golf Team on their 2nd place finish at the District Golf Tournament Monday and Tuesday. The boys found themselves down by 1 to McHi after day 1, but due to some fantastic play on day 2 the boys walked away with an 8 stroke lead over 3rd. The 2nd place finish qualifies the boys to the regional tournament in April. The team was led by 2nd place medalist Sophomore Gabriel Guerrero who faced 2 other players in a sudden death playoff. Gabriel matched one of the other players with a birdie on the 1st hole then birdied the 2nd hole to take 2nd place as an individual. The rest of the team include Ryan Montoya, Chris Villarreal, Lucas Escamilla, and Ryan Bagwell. This was truly a team effort and everybody had to step up and contribute. Great Job boys on an outstanding tournament!
