The boys track & field team placed second out of eight teams this past week ending as District Runner up for 31-5A. The boys rose to the occasion despite a few injuries keeping out some key athletes as well as some mishaps during the meet. However, the boys fought hard to come away with 2nd place. The following student-athletes placed in the following events.

Evan Thompson - Placed 1st in the Shot Put and Discus (District Champion and Area Qualifier)
Mason Villegas - Placed 5th in the Discus
Luis Garcia - Placed 5th in the Triple Jump
Rosendo Melendez - placed 1st in the Pole Vault (District Champion and Area Qualifier)
Gabriel Sanchez - placed 3rd in the Pole Vault (Area Qualifier)
Sean Paslak - placed 4th in the Pole Vault (Area Qualifier)
Sebastian Coronado - placed 3rd in the High Jump (Area Qualifier)
Cesar Ramirez - placed 3rd in the 1600 and 3200 (Area Qualifier)
Ryan Servantes - placed 5th in the 800 M Run
Jason Cavazos - placed 4th in the 400 M Dash (Area Qualifier)
Dylan Salinas - placed 2nd in the 300 Hurdles (Area Qualifier) and 5th in the 110 Hurdles
Leo Espinoza - placed 3rd in the 110 H Hurdles (Area Qualifier)
Rosendo Melendez, Jose Gutierrez, Aziel Gomez, Ryan Bulthuis - placed 6th in the 4x100 Relay
Luis Garcia, Jason Cavazos, Leo Espinoza, Gabriel Kelley placed 3rd in the 4x400 M Relay

We will be at the 31-5A/32-5A Area Meet on Thursday April 15th, 2021 in Mercedes to see who will advance to the Regional Track & Field Meet in San Antonio at the end of the month.
