Congratulations to our powerlifting girls who competed at the regional powerlifting meet that was held this past Saturday, March 6th, at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg. Each placed in their weight category as follows: Iliana Vasquez placed 2nd, Crystal Palafox placed 3rd and Daniela Roman placed 4th. All 3 ladies have qualified for the state powerlifting meet in Corpus Christi on March 20, 2021. Crystal and Daniela both qualified to state last year and were denied the opportunity to compete due to COVID, but it has not held them back this year as they have qualified again! If you see these young ladies in class, be sure to congratulate them for all their hard work.
Congratulations go out to Luis Garcia and Dashel Burrows who have qualified for the boys regional powerlifting meet that will be held this Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Weslaco East High School. Qualifying for regionals is a first for both young men but will not be the last! If you see these young men, send them well wishes for regional competition.
