2019 HSSM's All South Texas Football

(McAllen, Texas)-In only his second season as the Sharyland Pioneer High School head football coach, Tom Lee led his Diamondbacks to the third round of the University Interscholastic League's Class 5A Division II Regional finals this season. "I'm honored", Lee told his team after winning the outright District 16-5A DII title. "This is about you and this coaching staff."
Lee had to overcome adversity midway through the season after suffering some medical discomfort. "That was tough," said Lee. He was a prior open-heart patient. "I love this game too much."
The Diamondbacks outscored their opponents 625-338 points in 13 games and Lee was proud to have led his team to the perfect district title. "We won three titles this season," he told his emotional team after their loss to Boerne Champion in the first round the playoffs. "I'm so proud of all you."
Other finalists for this award were Michael Burget from Weslaco East, John Campbell from Edinburg Vela, Frank Cantu of Raymondville HS, and Oscar Salinas from La Feria High School
